With all of the wonderful designer paper that Stampin' Up has, why not let the designer paper make a bold statement on your card? This card, other than all of the layers, is a very simple card to make. I pulled the colors for the card right out of this wonderful designer paper. Happy Halloween

Yes, I've had my share of troubles lately. First, my laptop died that I use to upload all of my photos on my blog with. Then, I had knee surgery. Well, I now have a new laptop and a recovering knee so I should be back in "blog land" again.

The next 5 cards that I'll be sharing were all made at my September stamp camp. Each card features a different designer paper from the Spice Cake designer paper pack.

Happy Halloween, yes, a day late, but better late than never!

Stamps: Haunted Forest
Card stock: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Very Vanilla, Spice Cake designer paper

Field Flowers

Last week while I was looking out my kitchen window, I noticed a huge geranium with large orange flowers. I thought to myself, that would make a great color combination for a card. When I wanted to make a get well card for a customer, I immediately thought about this color combination. Thus, the creation of this card. Add some texture with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, some fun design with the Lace Ribbon border punch, some easy stamping with Field Flowers and the card was done. It's going in the mail tomorrow. I hope she likes it!

Stamps: Field Flowers
Card stock: Always Artichoke, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White

Retta's Stampin' Up party

Why not let the designer paper do most of the design work on a card? This is probably one of the easiest cards that I've ever made. By using a little stamping and some ribbon, you have a card done easily in 5 minutes or less. Perfect for the beginner stamper, or when you need to make a card in a hurry.

Stamps: Curly Cute
Card Stock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Well Worn designer paper
Ink: Not Quite Navy
Misc: Early Espresso grosgrain ribbons

Retta's Stampin' Up party

The focal point of this card is the Fabulous Florets flower. The flower was first stamped with Early Espresso on Very Vanilla card stock. Using sponge daubers, first sponge the flower center with More Mustard. A second sponge dauber was used with Cajun Craze. Cut the flower out and use a Stampin' Dimensional to make the flower "pop". Of course I had to add some texture to the card so used the new Houndstooth embossing folder with the Cajun Craze card stock. Again the Well Worn designer paper was used.

Stamps: Fabulous Florets
Card stock: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Well Worn designer paper
Ink: Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Early Espresso, Always Artichoke
Misc: Houndstooth embossing folder, Scallop Trim border punch, sponge daubers

Retta's Stampin' Up party

A fellow stamper/customer, Retta, hosted a Stampin' Up party last week. This is the first of the 3 cards that everyone got to make. When I asked Retta if if there was a particular stamp set or designer paper that she wanted featured, right away she mentioned Field Flowers stamp set and Well Worn designer paper. All 3 cards use the Well Worn designer paper. The colors for each card was pulled directly from this designer paper. For this card, the designer paper was punched using the new Lace Ribbon border punch. A different way to use designer paper, but I think it worked out just fine!

If you would like to host a party and be able to pick out a favorite stamp set, designer paper, etc to have featured at your party, please contact me. I'd be happy to come up with some fun cards or projects for you and your friends to make.

Stamps: Field Flowers
Card Stock: Not Quite Navy, Cajun Craze, Very Vanilla, Well Worn designer paper

A Punchy birthday card

Why not let the punches make a bold statement on a card? The only stamped part of this card is the Happy Birthday. Of course, the Square Lattice embossing folder was used, and the rest is featuring a variety of punches. This is for my friend who loves the retro look. I hope she likes it!

August Stamp Camp, card 5

Card 5 from my August stamp camp features the new In-Color, Lucky Limeade. This shade of green used with black card stock really makes the green stand out. And again, I just had to use the Square Lattice embossing folder. I LOVE the texture of this embossing folder. The pear is from a hostess set, Faith in Nature, and was water colored in, another one of my favorite techniques.

Card Stock: Lucky Limeade, Basic Black, Whisper White

Sympathy Card

The second card of my Sympathy camp. The photo of this card does not do it justice. After using a 1" round mask for the "moon", a sponge was used to layer on More Mustard, Cajun Craze and Marina Mist to create the background on Very Vanilla card stock. The tree was stamped with Early Espresso. Assemble the card by layering the tree to Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso which was embossed with the Framed Tulips embossing folder and the final card base of Very Vanilla. No sentiment was used on the front of the card.

Paper: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso, Cajun Craze
Stamps: Thoughts & Prayers

Sympathy Card

One of my customers (hi Jan!) asked if I could offer a camp to make Sympathy cards. As we all know, they are needed at times. I think it's best to have some made ahead instead of trying to come up with a special card at an emotional time. So, I came up with 3 easy cards, and this is the first card I designed. Each stamper made 3 each of the 3 designs. This card is really easy to make, very simple stamping, a little embossing and using 2 punches. That's it. Sentiments for the inside came from Thoughts & Prayers.

Stamps: Growing Green, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Ink: Soft Suede

Isn't the new Flower Garden embossing folder wonderful? After the Whisper White card stock was run through the embossing folder, markers were used to color in the raised image. A very easy and fun way to use this embossing folder. Add in a little bit of eyelet border punch for a bit more texture, and you're done!

Sail Away! On a perfect sunny afternoon to sail smoothly through the still waters. Oh, if only I had a boat! Well, I'm lucky that my 2 brothers have boats so I do get to enjoy some wonderful times on Lake Wisconsin. This would make a nice masculine card for a special person in your life. And made in a red, white and blue combination, very Americana!

July stamp camp, card 3

Strength and Hope. 20% of sales from this stamp set go to Breast Cancer Research. I would find it almost impossible that someone hasn't been affected by this horrible disease, either personally, a relative, good friend, co-worker, etc. I didn't have to think twice about buying this set. Every sale will help the research.

July stamp camp, card 2

This card features a lot of texture, using 2 different embossing folders. And see the frame around the Decorative Label Punch? You can make a frame by punching 2 extra labels. Cut one in half vertically and attach to each side. Cut the other in half horizontally and attach to the top and bottom. It makes a very nice frame with a pop of color. Using the Aquapainter and a bit of Cajun Craze, this sweet little bird was colored in. I'm thinking this bird is a robin, a fitting bird, don't you think? An easy card with very little stamping, texture is the key in this card.

Paper: Basic Black, Whisper White, Cajun Craze
Stamps: Four Frames
Ink: Black Staz-On, Cajun Craze
Misc: Perfect Polka Dots and Vintage Wallpaper embossing folders, Decorative Label punch, Scallop Trim Border punch, black grosgrain ribbon, Aquapainter

July stamp camp, card 1

My July stamp camp featured new items from the new catalog, what a fun time of year it is when Stampin' Up releases it's new Idea Book and Catalog. It's right up there with Christmas, in my opinion!

I love any shade of blue, green and brown together. Keeping that in mind, I came up with this color combination for this card, which features the brand new Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch. This punch is so much fun! 3 images out of one punch, how cool is that?

Papers: Marina Mist, Wild Wasabi, Soft Suede, Very Vanilla
Stamps: Sincere Salutations

This set is Because I Care, which is a Hostess Level 1 stamp set. Rather than coloring this flower, it was embossed with white embossing powder, giving it a whole new look.

May stamp camp, card 5

This is the final card that was made at my May stamp camp. This card features the Full Heart Extra-large punch. The heart, when punched out of Whisper White card stock, turned upside down, and a small piece on the now "top" cut off, what do you get? A dogs head :)

The right eye features a punched piece of Basic Grey card stock. The eyes and nose are black brads. What did I use for the red tongue? Well, that is a small piece from the 2 step bird punch. The ears are punched from the 3/4" round punch, cut in half, and glued to the head. The "collar" is a piece of More Mustard. The collar and the corners of the Sahara Sand square are pieced using the paper piercing tool and mat pack. The hair at the top of the head in between the ears is just a scrap of Soft Suede, cut very finely with scissors then "ruffed" up a bit for some texture. The head is added to the card with stampin' dimensionals.

Just start out punching with the 1" round punch on the Pear Pizzazz card stock. Then layer the 1 1/4" round punch over what you've just punched out, and you get a ring of card stock. I slipped 3 on each side of the card stock strip, accenting the center floral punched piece.

May stamp camp, card 3

This is the third card that was made at my May stamp camp. This card features the Butterfly Extra large punch. I used the Elements of Style stamp set which was stamped with Black Staz On onto Whisper White card stock. I used the aqua painter to color in the image with Concord Crush and Pear Pizazz, giving my customers part of the card that was already completed for them. Everyone knows I LOVE to use the aqua painter! By using the Butterfly punch, decide on an area that you like of the stamped piece, and punch out. Two Tags Die

Well, once again I seem to have fallen off the "blog world". For that, I do apologize!

These are the 5 projects that were made at my April stamp camp this week. All projects use the Two Tags die. The top row features 2 cards. The bottom, from left to right, holds a stick of gum, holds a small candy bar and could be used as a party favor by writing the persons name on the oval stamped image, and a book mark. Easy peasy as my up-line would say!

If you want any information on any individual project, let me know.

Michelle's party, part one

This is the first of the 3 cards that Michelle's group made a couple weeks ago. I love the Rich Razzelberry color and thought it teamed very nicely with the Springtime Vintage designer paper. Add in a little Always Artichoke and Very Vanilla paper, some coordinating markers, and an easy card is completed. Did I mention the Framed Tulips embossing folder? Love it! It adds such a nice "frame" for the main image on the card.

Stamping Party

Hi everyone! I had apparently fallen off the stamping blog world in the last couple of months. I have now reappeared and back for some more frequent show and tell!

Recently I attended Michelle's stamping group (Hi Michelle!) and she wanted me to have her group make 3 cards using stamp sets from the current Occasions Mini Catalog and Sale-A-Bration catalog. I will be showing you those projects over the next few days. Today I wanted to show you what I gave Michelle for asking me to attend this event. Inside the cello bag are 4 note cards, all using the same layout as the first card, just using different stamps, papers and punches.

Stamp Set: Baby Blossoms, So Happy For You
Paper: Springtime Vintage Designer Paper, Very Vanilla and various colors of card stock
Miscellaneous: various ink pads/markers, various punches, cello bag
