Mixed Bunch

What an easy card this is to make. I LOVE the Mixed Bunch stamp set which coordinates with the Blossom Punch. You can do so much with these 2 items. I'll be showing more ideas using them in the future. The Everyday Enchantment designer paper can be yours for free during Sale-A-Bration which ends at the end of March. This paper is gorgeous. I will also be featuring different designs of this paper over the next week or so. Add in a simple sentiment and this card is complete.

Bring on the Cake!

What could be easier than cutting apart a piece of designer paper, layering it on some coordinating card stock, stamp a very simple image and assemble your card? Well, this card is just that. It couldn't hardly get any easier. This would make a great kids or masculine card since there are no flowers on it! If you know me, it's hard for me NOT to make a floral card, but there are times when it's not appropriate. This layout is one I have used before and works well when you want to use some of the gorgeous designer papers that Stampin' Up sells.

Stamps: Bring on the Cake
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Twitterpated designer paper

Valentine's treats

I'm meeting some friends today for a fun morning of stamping, talking, eating and just having a good time. I wanted to give everyone a Valentine treat, and this is what they're going to get. This candy treat holder was made from the Top Note die from Stampin' Up. The papers I purchased from Hobby Lobby, I love the vintage graphic design of this paper. I scored about 1/3" or so on each side of the center point (your score line will be determined on how wide your candy is). I punched a hole with my Crop-A-Dile, added in some satin ribbon to tie it together, and you're done. Easy peasy!

Bordering on Romance, again!

This card was also made by water coloring in the flowers with a blender pen. This is really a fun new technique I recently discovered. And how about the fun new Edgelit die from the current mini catalog? They are very easy to use, one pass thru the Cuttlebug and you have a great border to add to your card. Unlike the punches, which you have to punch numerous times for a border, once and done with the new die. You really have to give it a try!

Stamps: Bordering on Romance
Paper: Pear Pizzazz, Wisteria Wonder, Whisper White, Twitterpated designer paper
Ink: Black Staz-On, Pear Pizzazz, Wisteria Wonder, Concord Crush
Misc: Edgelit die, Blender pen

For Valentine's Day

Just in time for Valentine's Day is this sweet card. Why not let the designer paper do most of the work for you? The only thing that was stamped was the saying. I wanted to use the new Fashionable Hearts embosslits die for this card. Also include some texture with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, and how about the little hearts in the Pinking Hearts border punch? I tried to use as many hearts on this card that I could yet keeping it simple to make.

Paper: Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Twitterpated designer paper
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Misc: Fashionable Hearts embosslits die, Pinking Hearts border punch, Full Heart punch, word window punch, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder

Bordering on Romance

How many products are used on this card from the current Occasions mini catalog? Well, there is the Bordering on Romance stamp set, Textured Impressions hearts embossing folder and Twitterpated designer paper. The floral image was stamped with Black Staz-On and colored in using the Blender Pen. If you haven't tried this technique, you must give it a try. My customers tell me it's much easier than using the Aqua Painter (which will still be my personal favorite way to water color). It's just like using a marker to color in the image but with a much softer color. Why don't you give it a try and let me know what you think.

Stamps: Bordering on Romance
Paper: Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Twitterpated designer paper
Ink: Black Staz-On, Blushing Bride, Riding Hood Red, Pear Pizzazz
Misc: Scallop Trim border punch, Textured Impressions hearts embossing folder, Blender Pen

Where have I been? Well, at home, just not blogging. I promise to get a better routine of blogging in. I have no excuses, but that will change!

The next few cards all will feature a different pattern from the Twitterpated designer paper from the current Stampin' Up mini catalog. I love this paper, it's very versatile, as you will see in the upcoming posts.

I also love the fact that Stampin' Up is coming out with new punches to match this new stamp set. This card was so easy to make. Add in a little texture with the Stripes embossing folder and you have a fun and easy card.

Yes, I've had my share of troubles lately. First, my laptop died that I use to upload all of my photos on my blog with. Then, I had knee surgery. Well, I now have a new laptop and a recovering knee so I should be back in "blog land" again.

The next 5 cards that I'll be sharing were all made at my September stamp camp. Each card features a different designer paper from the Spice Cake designer paper pack.

Field Flowers

Last week while I was looking out my kitchen window, I noticed a huge geranium with large orange flowers. I thought to myself, that would make a great color combination for a card. When I wanted to make a get well card for a customer, I immediately thought about this color combination. Thus, the creation of this card. Add some texture with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, some fun design with the Lace Ribbon border punch, some easy stamping with Field Flowers and the card was done. It's going in the mail tomorrow. I hope she likes it!

Retta's Stampin' Up party

Why not let the designer paper do most of the design work on a card? This is probably one of the easiest cards that I've ever made. By using a little stamping and some ribbon, you have a card done easily in 5 minutes or less. Perfect for the beginner stamper, or when you need to make a card in a hurry.

Stamps: Curly Cute
Card Stock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Well Worn designer paper

Retta's Stampin' Up party

The focal point of this card is the Fabulous Florets flower. The flower was first stamped with Early Espresso on Very Vanilla card stock. Using sponge daubers, first sponge the flower center with More Mustard. A second sponge dauber was used with Cajun Craze. Cut the flower out and use a Stampin' Dimensional to make the flower "pop". Of course I had to add some texture to the card so used the new Houndstooth embossing folder with the Cajun Craze card stock. Again the Well Worn designer paper was used.

Retta's Stampin' Up party

A fellow stamper/customer, Retta, hosted a Stampin' Up party last week. This is the first of the 3 cards that everyone got to make. When I asked Retta if if there was a particular stamp set or designer paper that she wanted featured, right away she mentioned Field Flowers stamp set and Well Worn designer paper. All 3 cards use the Well Worn designer paper. The colors for each card was pulled directly from this designer paper. For this card, the designer paper was punched using the new Lace Ribbon border punch. A different way to use designer paper, but I think it worked out just fine!

If you would like to host a party and be able to pick out a favorite stamp set, designer paper, etc to have featured at your party, please contact me. I'd be happy to come up with some fun cards or projects for you and your friends to make.

Why not let the punches make a bold statement on a card? The only stamped part of this card is the Happy Birthday. Of course, the Square Lattice embossing folder was used, and the rest is featuring a variety of punches. This is for my friend who loves the retro look. I hope she likes it!

August Stamp Camp, card 5

Card 5 from my August stamp camp features the new In-Color, Lucky Limeade. This shade of green used with black card stock really makes the green stand out. And again, I just had to use the Square Lattice embossing folder. I LOVE the texture of this embossing folder. The pear is from a hostess set, Faith in Nature, and was water colored in, another one of my favorite techniques.
